PARTNERING WITH FAMILIES TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN

Parenting is a tough job, especially when families don’t have the same support as others. Sometimes, children struggle to manage their behaviors and emotions and have trouble showing their parents that they need help. This is common when children face early challenges.

Parents are key in helping their children build resilience, starting from infancy. free diapers, gift cards, food

ABC CAN HELP

Attachment and Biobehavioral Catchup (ABC) is a 10-session home visiting program. ABC partners with parents to help them nurture their child and respond to their child's needs.

When parents are nurturing and responsive, they can protect their children from early challenges.

ABOUT ABC

We offer ABC to parents starting in their third trimester and to caregivers of infant and toddlers up to 2 years old.

ABC helps strengthen your bond with your child and teaches them how to manage their behaviors and emotions.

The program will guide you in recognizing and responding to your baby’s needs, which can protect them from stress and early challenges.

Case management services provided.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF ABC

PARENTS:

  • Learn how to respond when children are upset and play in ways that help them grow and do well in the future.

“I wanted to thank you for pairing me with Lupe. She was a dream and a pleasure to work with. I feel post 10 weeks of this therapy that I have the tools to navigate motherhood even more. Please continue to do what you do, your legacy will live on for generations to come”

- Leilah, Parent

ABC OVERVIEW

The ABC program includes:

  • Ten weekly 1-hour sessions in your home. During sessions, you play with your child and discuss parenting your child with an ABC provider.
  • Parents receive positive feedback during sessions. The ABC provider reviews video clips with you and makes comments that highlight your strengths as a parent.
  • The 10-week program ends with a celebration and a special gift - a set of video clips of you and your child interacting during the ABC program.
